Tollaland is our sanctuary, exactly what every home should be.  The house is modest, the property is flat and we used the word potential in every sentence uttered pre purchase.  Nick and I grew up in two separate 6 family apartment houses that were approximately one mile and a half from each other (coincidently owned by the same landlord).  In November of 1963, both our families moved into 2-family private homes,(1/2 a mile between us). The only difference was that my family were the tenants in our situation, Nick's family had tenants.  Still we were both putting up with strangers in our environment. At that time we were seniors at Port Chester High School, sharing friends, teachers, homework, historical events, and mutual teenage experiences.  We started dating 3 weeks before graduation...continued through his college years, and married in June, 1968.  For the next 10 years, we lived in the first floor apartment (4 rooms) of Nick's parents house.  Finally, in July of 1978, when Nicky was 9 and Sheri was 7, our dream came true.   It's not a luxury home by any stretch of the imagination but it's ours, it's private (esp. after all the fences went up), it's cheerful, it's jam-packed full of wonderful memories, it's been overhauled by our blood, sweat and tears, and best of all...it's ours. We love to spend as much time outdoors as possible and concentrated on making the most of what we had so that we could enjoy every ray of sunshine.  Fortunately, the Hudson Valley is quite nice 3 out of 4 seasons.  Anyway, that's our history and an explanation of why our home means so much to us.  Please consider this a personal invitation to stop by anytime for a visit. We love company!
